Embroidered childhood memories

Two years ago, a lovely client came to me with a very special request that touched my heart. She brought me two childhood drawings made by her daughters, Francesca and Sofia. These were not just doodles they were full of love, imagination, and the innocence of childhood. The kind of artwork that only little hands and big hearts can create.

The drawings had been kept for years one from 2005, and the other from 2018. Time had slowly faded the colors, but not the emotions behind them. Her daughters are now all grown up, and she wanted to preserve this part of their childhood in a more permanent way by turning their original drawings into embroidered keepsakes.

When she asked me if I could bring them to life with thread, I said yes without hesitation. These were not just illustrations. They were time capsules.

We carefully digitized every line, every curve, staying true to the girls' original strokes. From the curly hair and wide smiles to the hearts and boots it was important to me that the embroidery felt just like the drawings they once proudly showed to their mom.

Stitch by stitch, memory by memory, these pieces came to life in my studio. I could imagine the little girls who made them, and the mother who lovingly saved them all these years. It was such a joy and honor to transform those paper memories into heirlooms that can now last forever.

This project reminded me why I love embroidery so much: it doesn't just decorate it preserves stories.

Would you like to turn your child's drawing into an embroidered keepsake?
Lets turn that piece of paper into something you'll treasure forever.
Send me a messageId love to stitch your story next.
