The Tiny Sewing Tool I Wish I'd Found Sooner: the Hump Jumper

Welcome back to Mariana's Diary! This week I want to share a little sewing secret with you. It's tiny, it's simple, and I honestly wish I'd discovered it sooner. It's called a Hump Jumper, and it has made sewing thick seams so much easier for me.

The story behind it

Since I started sewing thicker fabrics, I've come across a familiar little struggle. When you reach a bulky seam, the presser foot wants to tilt as it climbs up over all those layers.

If you sew, you probably know the feeling: you slow right down, hold your breath and hope the machine makes it over without a fuss.

That's when I discovered this small accessory, and it has been a real game changer in my studio.

How the Hump Jumper helps

The idea is lovely and simple. The Hump Jumper helps keep your presser foot level when you're sewing bulky fabrics, so it can pass over those difficult seams without tipping.

It's such a small thing to keep beside the machine, but it makes those tricky moments feel much calmer. I love little tools like this, the ones that quietly make the work more enjoyable.

Did you know this trick?

I'd love to know if you already use one, or if this is new to you too. Sometimes the smallest discoveries are the ones we end up using every single day.

Watch the reel

I filmed a short video showing the Hump Jumper in action. Watch the reel on Instagram, and do tell me in the comments: did you know this trick?
